The NaNoWriMo Chronicles: Day 4

Guess who's sick again?

Yeah, I'm not sure why but my immune system has given up on me. This is the second time in three weeks I've gotten sick. I was hoping that the coughing from yesterday wouldn't result in anything, and boy was I wrong. That's life I guess.

Being sick affected my writing routine a little bit. I was less focused and ended up walking away from my project a few times. Took a nap, which was lovely. I've been writing this story on Google Docs, so everywhere I go, my story goes with me. If I have downtime anywhere or are waiting for something, I'll whip out my phone and write a paragraph or two, or however much my brain can muster at the time.

And today, after my nap, my brain surprised me and worked long enough to get passed 10,000 words! I'm a fifth of a way through my goal, and honestly that feels pretty good to say. But so far, I'm feeling really good about this story. I'm loving the characters and I'm getting ready to introduce a whole other group of them, and I can't wait! I love the setting, the time period, and just this whole novel writing experience. Hopefully I still feel this way the further we go into November. Fingers crossed! (Also I get to go buy a new mug now!)
