The NaNoWriMo Chronicles: Day 6

Today was another bit of a slump day for writing.

I think it was because I'm almost to the part of the story that I really want to write but I have to continue with the set up in order to get there. I notice when I'm writing stories there's always a handful of scenes that I can't wait to write, and when I'm editing those tend to be the scenes that need the least amount of work.

But despite these slumps I've had the last few days, I am really liking my story. This is of course only draft 1, so there will be a lot of rewrites in the future, but for what I have right now, I'm enjoying it. My characters are fun, I love the setting (and daydream about it constantly). If someone would have told me five years ago that one day I'd be sitting at my computer day after day writing a Western, I would have told them they were crazy. I would have said "There's no way, because I hate Westerns."  (I did really not like Westerns at one point.)

But here I am now, with a blog and everything, writing in a genre I didn't think I'd ever get inspiration for, much less be one of my favorite stories. It's funny how life changes.

Happy writing y'all! I'll see you tomorrow!

P.S. I still haven't bought a mug for reaching 10,000 words. I'm torn between a NaNoWriMo mug and just going to the store and buying one. Anyone have a suggestion?
