The NaNoWriMo Chronicles: Days 11-19
Long story short, I WON!! I won NaNoWriMo!
Now, I should say that NaNo isn't a competition. When you "win", it just means you reached the 50,000 word goal. And I got 50,029 words as my final count. This is also where my first draft ended. But I can honestly say, for the first time, I'm so excited to do my second draft. I love my characters, my setting, and I want to return to them, explore with them more.
I have never said that about a story before. I have written a lot over the years, but I write one draft before my story decides it doesn't work for me. But this time, I love my story. I love my characters and I can't wait to see what they have in store for me and how they'll develop further.
My writing journey, of course, isn't done. Far from it. So there will be more blog posts to come. (Sorry I haven't been doing daily posts like before. Life got complicated for a while, as life often likes to do. Despite now being sick, again, things are getting back to normal.)
